Jerry Bouma has over 35 years experience as a management consultant in the agriculture and food industry. His work experience includes 10 years with Deloitte; 3 years with Maple Leaf Foods; and the last 25 years with Toma & Bouma Management Consultants (now operating as Jerry Bouma & Associates; Jerry’s specialities include strategic planning, governance reviews, business and marketing management, and market research.
Jerry has conducted numerous workshops, seminars, facilitated think tanks and given lectures on the subject of innovation and business strategy, environmental issues, value chain formation & management, supply management, marketing, and business to business management. Some of his more recent projects include: a) detailed assessment of the North American Red Meat Sector; b) a review of leading innovation systems: Israel, Netherlands, Scotland and DARPA; c) detailed strategic reviews of numerous industry sectors including beef, pork, poultry, dairy, grains and oilseeds; d) the development of Agriculture Master Plans for several agricultural municipalities/counties including the Regional Agriculture Master Plan currently underway for the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board. His project experience includes work in the following countries: Canada, Germany, Jamaica, India, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands South Africa, UK, USA and Venezuela.
Currently Jerry serves on the Board of AVAC; Chair of the Advisory Board for The Little Potato Company, the Honorary Consul for the Kingdon of the Netherlands and Chair of the Edmonton Consular Corps.
