Biography

Colin studied at the University of Saskatchewan, earning a B.A. in International Studies and Business as well as a Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.). Upon graduation, he joined Star Produce, a fresh produce company headquartered in Saskatoon.

Colin has worked in varied professional capacities at Star Produce over the past 25 years, including heading up the greenhouse operations and most recently as President of Whole Leaf, a year-round, automated lettuce operation in Coaldale, Alberta.

Colin has worked extensively with all major retail and foodservice customers such as Loblaw, Sobeys, Costco, Walmart, Sysco, and others.

Colin has been active within the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) throughout his entire produce career. He was an elected as a Director in 2007, and in 2023 was elected as Chair. From 2023-2024 Colin led the 900 member association.

Colin has been recognized by Business in Vancouver magazine as one of the 500 most influential business leaders in the province and was recently honored by the BC Produce Marketing Association as the 2023 Produce Person of the Year for British Columbia.
